Évelyne de Pontbriand spares no effort to enhance her Angelin estate, which maintains, above the Loire, one of the most beautiful heritages of Savennières vineyards.
The range is available by terroir, which results in a more nuanced expression of the wines of the vintage, served by a biodynamic approach.
Classically crafted, the wines gain in finesse and purity in the latest vintages; they age gracefully.

The Savennières Call is a Grand Cru of the Loire Valley, located 15 km southwest of Angers. It is a small-area appellation: 156 hectares and 36 winemakers. Much appreciated by sommeliers, traders, importers and winemakers, and passionate amateurs, it is still confidential and produces a rare wine (very low yields): 4000hl/year.
It lies on three shale hillsides located on the right bank of the Loire in front of the Layon. It is certainly the most fascinating terroir in the Loire Valley.

The vineyards of the Château des Vaults (Domaine du Closel) are located on hillsides perpendicular to the Loire, enjoying an exceptional south-west exposure. The nature of the soil is extremely complex and thus perfect for producing great wines. These soils are shallow, very warm and consist of purple and green shale as well as purple sandstone and volcanic rocks (quartz, phtanites, and organic matter).

The decree of the AOC Savennières sets very strict standards with regard to the cultivation and practices of winemaking. Chenin is the only authorized grape variety, the manual harvest is done carefully by tries for very low yields.

The range is available by terroir, which results in a more nuanced expression of the wines of the vintage, served by a biodynamic approach. The La Jalousie cuvée is fine, to drink young, while the most mineral Les Caillardières evolves well over five to six years. Depending on the richness of the vintage, Clos du Papillon can store residual sugars.
Classically crafted, the wines gain in finesse and purity in the latest vintages; they age gracefully. The vintages differ because of the climate, adding further diversity and making each wine a unique work, a new balance, secret of beauty and taste.

The estate has been certified in biodynamics since 2015.
