This wine comes from two different vineyards of Domaine Marcel Deiss:
Beblenheim: Located on the first buttress of the plain, it draws its originality from its geological origin. It is a terroir bordering a basin, made up of superimposed beaches combining land inputs of Vosges origin (gravel, sands and marls) and lakes (limestones, silts) forming a very thick and homogeneous base and on the surface a fairly light soil, calcareous, filtering, warm, allowing to preserve perennial acidity.
St Hippolyte: clinging to the poor granite ridges of the town of St Hippolyte, this Terroir is made up of the degradation of the gray granite of Thannenkirch, giving a light, white, sandy soil, very infertile because it is terribly dry. The vine finds there severe limits to its growth and invests very early in its Grapes. This Terroir is therefore one of the earliest in Alsace and maintaining good acidity requires early harvesting; it produces mineral and slightly salty wines.

Tasting Notes:
Great lemony white wine, mineral and deep, with a brilliant yellow color, with aromas of zest and white fruits. The sweet palate presents notes of lemon, pineapple and white peach. Its surprising liveliness is balanced by a lot of fat and this harmony is perfectly reproduced in the mouth.

Dry and complex white wine

Food and wine :
Poached trout with peaches and candied lemon, rutabaga mousseline. Fondant Mont d'Or, poached pears and cuttlefish ink bread.
