Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin
Drumshanbo Gunpowder is an Irish gin.
Over the years, P.J. Rigney has made many trips, from his family lands to unknown places. These journeys took him to the wild and unspoiled lands of Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim in Ireland. It was here that his curious mind, filled with the oriental traditions of fruit, herbal and botanical distillation, began to work. He created The Shed Distillery, using medieval copper stills, and began his quest to merge the oriental botanics discovered during his travels with those of the Irish lands.
P.J. Rigney, thus created his Irish gin: Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin and a limited edition in a ceramic bottle. Distilled in medieval copper stills, gin merges oriental botanicals discovered through the travels of its creator with local botanicals from Irish lands. There are therefore, among others, angelica and iris roots, caraway, cardamom, coriander, Chinese lemon and kaffir and gunpowder green tea.
The nose is citrus, star anise with hints of green tea. The palate is marked by coriander, citrus fruits and hot spices. The finish is bold, long and spicy.
