Mas Champart

A lovely nose of blackcurrant, ripe fruit and chocolate.  The palate is fleshy, broad, with silky tannins on the red fruit.
The finish is ample with a slight acidity.
Good ageing potential, this wine is both concentrated and elegant.

An investment in a field being refused by the banker , the Champart you start in 1976 buying old vines gradually abandoned.
After rehabilitation and replanting of the vineyards of certain parcels , the grapes are brought to the cooperative winery until 1988 , the year of their first batch of wine in a cellar near the area.

   Location and soils:
16 hectares of vines in the south to St Chinian 210m and 280m altitude. The vines are eye opener hillsides with steep slopes on clay-limestone soils , as limestone plateaus with light and filter and the bottom of the slope with fine clays and sandstones of the Triassic soils.

    
Grape varieties:
Syrah and Grenache , Cinsault Rosé especially reserved for Carignan aged 65 to 90 years , Mourvèdre but Graziano (900 strains) !

   
Winemaking:
The harvest is manual , in comportesde 45 kg of grapes , sorting is done on the vine if necessary.
Red, the grapes are picked at high maturity scuffed , slightly crushed and put into tanks by gravity.

Both concentrated and easily accessible , the estate's wines Mas Champart are an expression of terroir with aromas of garrigue .
A particular style respecting the purity of fruit and freshness.
