Millésime 2016
Saint-Chinian Rouge"As a nod and a tribute to our father who was visionary in his region, we created from 1995 a cuvée that is still the spearhead of the field.
This vintage was called "The Glory of my Father" (small wink to the pen of Marcel Pagnol).
When our father left us in 2004, this wine became "My Father's Land".
As he breathed us, we wanted, through this vintage, to offer the best of ourselves, the best of the vintage.
This vintage goes beyond fashion, defies time and is a tribute to a lover of the vine and our beautiful region. "
Christine Simon.
Description of the sommelier
Grapes:
Syrah 60%, Mourvèdre 20%, Grenache 20%
Culture :
This cuvée was aged 18 months in new oak barrels drying 36 months, medium heating.
Winemaking:
Manual picking with grape sorting and destemming. Pre-fermentation at low temperature followed by long fermentation. The embedding took place after the alcoholic fermentation.
Character:
With us, the Earth is important. We know the value, the potential. We know how to work while respecting it. We would be closer to Giono than to Pagnol. So obviously, this wine is moving.
We can guess its power by turning it in the glass. This wine is thick. Its nose confirms this concentration and then, after a few seconds, you can smell blackberry jam, toast, black pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, cedar.
It's so beautiful that we're left speechless. But you still have to describe the rest. It is ample, dense, very harmonious. We feed on it. We linger there. We are good. We feel grown up, like wine.
Harmony puts:
Fine and racy, this wine will accompany with charm a baron of lamb or pigeons roasted with juniper.
