The result of Ichiro Akuto's know-how, each new opus of Chichibu is always eagerly awaited.

          

Chichibu distillery was founded in 2007 by Ichiro Akuto, grandson of the founder of the Hanyu distillery. Chichibu has been in operation since February 2008.
Produced 100% in its distillery, Chichibu is on its way to becoming the very first Japanese whisky, thanks to the efforts of its creator, Ichiro Akuto.

       
Fermented in mizunara vats (a rare and highly sought-after Japanese oak variety for whisky maturation) and distilled in two custom-made stills in Scotland by Forsyth's.

The whisky produced is surprisingly mature and complex, even at a very young age.
A true craftsman's whisky.

            
Chichibu The Peated Single Malt is made with Japanese peat.
Chichibus The Peated - Release 2022 is the sixth edition of the peated version of Chichibu. The Peated was first released in 2012, followed by 2013, 2015, 2016 and most recently in 2018 on the occasion of the distillery's 10th anniversary.

              

    

Tasting note:

A single malt with a strong smoky character and a balance between sweetness and peat. On the palate notes of sweet and light custard, fruity aromas, black tea and peat smoke.
