Cognac is the result of the distillation of Ugni Blanc mainly, then it is aged for a long time in oak barrels to bring a unique aromatic palette that combines fruity, floral and spicy notes with finesse, delicacy and persistence.
On the labels the classification is as follows:
VS or ***: the youngest brandy entering the blend must be at least 2 years old
VSOP: the youngest brandy entering the blend must be at least 4 years old
Napoleon, XO **, Extra **, Aging **: the youngest eau-de-vie entering the blend must be at least 6 years old
This edition pays tribute to the 10 generations of the Ferrand family who have succeeded each other since 1630 at the head of this famous cognac house. 100% Grande Champagne - 100% Ugni blanc, distilled with lees, aged in French oak barrels, of which about 20% are Sauternes barrels (for a minimum of one year).
The Grosperrin house produces a VSOP cognac made from three grape varieties harvested and distilled separately, just like the cognacs of the past.The nose reveals floral aromas. The palate reveals notes of liquorice and a honeyed sensation. On the finish, slight notes of roasting linked to the ageing process.
