Mataro is a cuvée that reflects Mas des Brousses' attachment to Mourvèdre. Mourvèdre is present in 70% of the blend, complemented by Syrah and Grenache. After 18 months of ageing, it can be enjoyed in its third year, but its aromatic richness and elegant tannins will reveal themselves over a period of fifteen years.

            

Grape varieties :

70% mourvèdre, 15% syrah and 15% grenache noir.
Aged in 400 litre barrels for 15 months.

Tasting notes:

Mataro offers a deep, dense, textured and complex expression. This Mourvèdre on limestone, complemented by Syrah and Grenache, offers notes of amarena cherry with intense cade wood. A powerful and elegant Languedoc wine.

Powerful and complex red wine.

Food and wine pairing:

Risotto with ceps and black olives. Rack of lamb from Larzac cooked with sweetbreads, vegetable tian with Lucques olive oil.
