Domaine Vaquer

Fernand Vaquer 1988

Vin de Pays Catalan

France - Roussillon

Grape varieties:

80% carignan, 20% black grenache

Tasting Notes:

The color is barely faded, it is the garnet that dominates. From the first nose, elegance is there, we admire the complexity of the bouquet: aromas of plum, leather, small notes of undergrowth, dried fruits. The freshness is surprising, delicate touches of sweet spices give it an oriental air. The palate is even more surprising, airy, tender, delicious yet quite full-bodied, but with silky tannins. The lingering finish is marked by notes of dried fruits and leather, the balance is there, accompanied by a nice freshness. In short, elegance, fragrance, finesse, balance, this is not a Burgundy, but a Roussillon des Aspres!

Wine style:

Mature red wine

Food and wine :

Veal kidneys deglazed with Jerez vinegar, parsnip mousseline with black garlic. Beef bourguignon.

Aging potential in your cellar:

6 years
