Fredi Torres Priorat Classic

A deep, complex and elegant wine. On the nose, aromas of red fruits and mineral notes predominate over the slight toasted notes of the barrel. On the palate, it is intense but lively, with a long and fresh finish.

Priorat - Classic 2019

Priorat DOQ

Espagne - Catalogne

Fredi Torres is an oenologist with an inquisitive and tireless mind. After giving up a career as a DJ, he decided to return to his Iberian roots, his parents were Galician farmers and fishermen, and after studying viticulture and winemaking in Switzerland and spending time at the best wineries in Burgundy, Argentina, South Africa and Priorat, it was in the latter region that he decided, in 2004, to launch his first project with Swiss partners: Saó del Coster.

In 2013, after leaving Saó del Coster, he acquired his first vineyards in the Priorat and at the same time began to collaborate with the brothers Carlos and Juan Rodríguez in the Ribeira Sacra, under the name of Sílice Viticultores.

Currently, Fredi Torres is also working on other projects: with the Frenchman Antoine Touton in Montsant, with Marc Lecha in Conca de Barberá, with Jean-Rémi Mourad in the Languedoc ("Le Cartel" in Gruissan)...

Fredi Torres Priorat Classic is a wine made with grapes from terraced vineyards on schistose soil (licorella) and cultivated biodynamically.

After the manual harvest, the alcoholic fermentation takes place with a gentle maceration, seeking a light extraction. 80% of the wine is aged for 10 months in stainless steel vats while the remaining 20% is aged in new French oak barrels.
