List of products by manufacturer Dario di Vaira

Dario Di Vaira represents the third generation of the Di Vaira family, who immigrated to Bolgheri in the 1950s from Molise. In 2008, Dario inherited the farm from his father Pasqualino and, freshly graduated in viticulture and oenology, he chose to focus on the excellent production of the territory with Bolgheri DOP wines.
Today, Dario can count on almost 10 hectares of vineyards, some of which were already planted in 1998.

Dario Di Vaira, independent winemaker, manages both his eponymous winery and the Agriturismo Eucaliptus, located in the middle of the famous Bolgheri state road. A few kilometres away, in Donoratico, is the new winery where Dario processes the grapes from his eight hectares of very suitable mixed soils (next door we find the famous Le Macchiole estate), just a few minutes from the sea.

Founded by his father Pasqualino Di Vaira in the 1960s, the Eucaliptus estate produced table wines for friends and for sale. It was almost exclusively bulk and bag-in-box wine. In 2008, after graduating in viticulture and oenology, Dario took over the winery, changing his perspective and investing heavily in his estate, acquiring new plots and building the new winery, which has been in operation since 2017.
Starting only with his vineyards, he produces his nectars, knowing deeply the different expressions of the plots, immersed in a rich Tuscan region. In addition to the vines, olive trees, vegetables and fruit are grown here, the latter served quickly in the farm restaurant.

Definitely renouncing large quantities in favour of quality, Dario cultivates his vineyards with respect for the environment and its ecosystem, reducing average yields per vine and applying green manure. On the predominantly sandy soils, various red berry varieties are grown: from the king of Tuscany, Sangiovese, to the adopted Bolgheri vines, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and in small quantities Syrah and Petit Verdot. Merlot, on the other hand, is planted on more clayey soils, while for the white varieties (Viognier, Vermentino and Chardonnay) plots closer to the sea are preferred, because of the considerable amount of mineral salts and sand.
There are two white wines: Rapè (black tobacco, in Tuscan) is composed of pure viognier and expresses with elegance the fruit, while the vermentino (Le Pinete) contains in it the iodine sensations of the sea and the warm ones of the Bolgheri sun.

There are also many red wines: Bolgheri Rosso, Clarice, is the first bottled wine produced by Father Pasqualino, an expression of character and power. The flagship wine, Bolgheri Superiore, incorporates only the best of the estate's parcels.

The vineyards characterise Dario's wines precisely for structure, elegance and finesse, where in the glass, if you close your eyes, you feel Bolgheri and its typicality, its Mediterranean maquis, its eucalyptus, its marine imprint...
