The vineyards are located at the foot of the Andes, at an altitude between 800 and 1700 meters.

The most important wine regions in the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan have called Cuyo region, as well as that of La Rioja.
The provinces of Salta, Jujuy, Catamarca, Río Negro, Neuquén and Buenos Aires also produce grapes and wine.
The province of Mendoza accounts for over 60% of the production of Argentinean wines.
An ingenious irrigation system consisting of canals and ponds allows growers to irrigate the plantations.

White wines are generally based on Chardonnay, Torrontes, Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Viognier and Semillon.
The grapes red wines made from Malbec, Bonarda, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon in smaller quantities.
In San Juan there are many good wines syrah.
