This remarkable gin is distilled in the iconic Coffey-type stills. Named after its inventor Aeneas Coffey, this traditional still with two continuous columns, the "Coffey Still" was imported from Scotland in 1963. Nikka has remained faithful to these traditional stills, which retain more character and give a distinct texture to the stills modern and more efficient multi-column. Running these old stills requires real expertise, which Nikka continues to cultivate over the years.

This gin is made from corn distillate and malted barley distillate produced at the Miyagikyo Distillery.

It has a rich and soft spirit and a refined and silky texture.
In addition to traditional herbs, its surprising complexity is based on refreshing Japanese citrus notes such as yuzu, kabosu and amanatsu, the delicate fruitiness of apples and the pleasant spiciness of sansho pepper.
