Founded by Roger Marès in the 1960s, the Mas des Bressades is located in the Costières de Nîmes, in the south of the Rhône valley. It stretches across 45 hectares north of the Camargue, where the vines are planted at an altitude of 70 meters, on pebbles rolled by the Rhône.
Bressades comes from the Provençal dialect and means to rock, because we are very often rocked there, see brewed by the Mistral.

While the estate has long been cultivated with respect for nature and the soil, in 2017 Cyril Marès applied for certification in organic farming. After three years of conversion, it is now official.
Cyril has always lived between the vines and orchards of his father Roger Marès. After studying agronomy and viticulture and Oenology in Montpellier, he went to vinify on other continents before taking over the estate.
First in the USA at Chalone Vineyard in 1994, then in Chile at Bruno Prats, owner of Château Cos d'Estournelle, and at Paul Pontallier, manager of Château Margaux. These two harvests were the occasion of a trip around the world rich in adventures, meetings and discoveries. Cyril returned to the Costières de Nîmes at the Mas des Bressades in 1996.
Coming back by passion for wine and for the terroir of Mas des Bressades, his objective is to preserve as much as possible the quality potential of the terroir while respecting the vines and the soil. "I seek in each wine the harmony between the different origins and components of the wine so that each one feels while drinking it the pleasure that I had to do it."

The Mas des Bressades continues today the tradition by producing AOC Costières de Nîmes known for their concentration and their regularity but also a country wine of Gard "Cabernet-syrah" made according to a Bordeaux tradition which consisted in adding syrah of Tain l'Hermitage in Cabernet-sauvignon vats. The estate practices traditional winemaking methods with total destemming of the harvest, fermentation in stainless vats, temperature control, semi-underground cellar and aging in oak barrels. For the red wines, 55% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 10% Cabernet coexist with Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Marsanne.
