Hegarty Chamans is owned by Sir John Hegarty and his wife Philippa. They bought the estate in 2002 and have invested heavily, becoming one of the leading producers in the Minervois. The 15 hectares of vines are situated in the southern foothills of the Montagne Noire, surrounded by garrigue and woodland. Since purchasing the estate, the couple decided to ensure that the vineyard would be free from chemical agriculture to support the biodiversity of the site. They were certified organic by AB in 2010 and certified biodynamic by Demeter in 2011.

Grape varieties:
70% mourvèdre, 20% syrah and 10% carignan.
Aging: 30 months in concrete tanks on fine lees.

Tasting notes:

An elegant and wild Minervois with scents of black fruits, blackcurrant and blackberry with a surprisingly smoky finish. Its lively freshness and elegant balance will make this wine a perfect companion for many occasions.
